A love of working on cars: It all started in high school auto shop. By my senior year, I knew this was the right choice. Following was an A.A. degree in auto technology from College of Marin.
1978 began a 10 year career at 3 different Chevrolet Dealerships in Marin County. During that time I became an GM Master Technician, Chevrolet Certified Technician, and an ASE Master Technician. I became specialized in drivability, computer control and electrical systems.
1988-89 was at Bill Lyons Unocal as a smog technician. Desiring to own my own business some day, that dream came true in 1990. I started Mobile Tune-Up doing auto repair at people’s homes and businesses. By 1994, I had opened Kindt Automotive and have remained in this profession until present. After having 2 large shops as well as employees, I decided to down size in 2004 and worked alone since. Being smaller now has allowed me to give more personalized service to my customers as well as lowering my hourly rate. Today's trend in auto repair is to offer low priced gimmicks as a way to increase customer volume. This being a standard practice in all types of sales, auto repair shops must up-sell to offset this loss. That is why creative up-selling happens at many shops. Kindt Automotive will never try to sell you a service or repair that is questionable or that perhaps can be put off until a later date. You will, however, be treated with complete honesty and professionalism when any additional work may be needed. All work is guaranteed 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. All replaced parts can be returned to customer upon request. Jeff Kindt Jeff Kindt : Owner |
