"Drag racing has always been a passion since childhood. Reading HotRod magazine and plastering my bedroom walls with dragster photos was the flame that grew into an inferno by adolescence. In high school I owned a 57 Chevy that I raced at Champion Raceway in Brisbane near Candlestick Park. While attending College of Marin, I owned a very rare 1965 Chevelle 2 door station wagon with a 283 and 4 speed. That car was raced mostly at Fremont Raceway and an occasional street race. It wasn't until 1995 that I actually built my first drag race car. I bought a 1970 Chevelle from a guy who was due to smog it but couldn't because the engine was highly modified. For $1500, my project car had started. 13 years later, my 3 sons and I have built and driven 3 different 1970 Chevelles. Several small block 350 engines as well as a 454 big block have been in each. Our current car is the blue Chevelle which has an all tube chassis. It is owned and driven by Luke Kindt. The best quarter mile elapsed time to date is 10:15 @ 132 mph."
